of probability and certainty POSTED AT 09:29 PM it has been awhile since i have written... it had been a hellish month of all sorts of office works and business opportunities... i would have been crazy to have missed this wave... and even though it had been a rough trip of constant paddling to stay afloat, i think from this vantage i can see the shores... distant... but dry land none the less. "the most important questions of life are, for the most part, really only problems of probability." psdelaplace it seems this swell of opportunity do come once in a while, taking the chance to plunge into it really takes some sacrifices... outcomes are not always favourable. my friends and i have been thinking of ways to make this opportunity come in more frequently, if not into a predictable cycle. we are trying to improve our chances in life... determining our fate... trying our luck. i would have to agree that life is all possibilities; it is an awe-inspiring truth that is very hard to believe sometimes... realizing that possibility however is a mind-boggling mystery. this hearsay is so readily accepted. it would be funny to think that the universe started out as some sort of cosmic accident they aptly called "the big bang"... and this cosmic accident has rippled into a chain of reactionary accidents that we now call life... so if chances and opportunities continuously ripple across time and space... then life is not all possibilities but life is all but probabilities. since we are caught stumbling in between these ripple of accidents and probabilities, destiny is out of the question, there are no such things as choices... only chances. it seems to be a cruel unavoidable fate. however, there is still hope (in the science of probability it is what mathematicians would coin as "nothing without a degree of certainty" ). if life is all probability then there are definitely some certainties we can rely on. we have no choice but we can improve our chances.
